Recommendations for Recessed Lighting
Don't rely entirely on recessed fixtures, our expert says.
Is there any reason to go with a smaller recessed canister diameter other than they take up less space?
The bigger the holes, the more your ceiling will look like Swiss cheese. My recommendation is to use a minimal number of recessed fixtures, combined with other light sources to create a better overall lighting design. You should combine task, ambient, accent and decorative lighting to create something that’s more cohesive and flexible. This is called light layering. ”Don’t put all your holes in one basket,” as my grandmother used to say.
